Case color action is engraved with a scroll pattern. Face of action is marked 52. Action is fitted with double set triggers and a No. 4 loop lever. Aftermarket wood knob palm rest is attached to the lever. The buttstock has been shortened and a custom brass buttplate is affixed. The buttstock is finely checkered. Odd file marks are on the action frame bottom, just in front of the triggers. The forearm is an uncheckered replacement. The Stevens-Pope barrel, now 26" long, is full octagon, drilled and tapped for a scope, No. 4 weight, and has been set back at the breech end. Stevens-Pope number is 1746, but there is no Pope code shown. Globe front sight and Stevens-Vernier rear with windage. CONDITION: Traces of case color on action. Barrel has strong blue with some minor wear at sharp corners of the octagon. Buttstock shows some wear from handling and there is a crack at top tang. Good action with an excellent bore. TR
