(ca 1958) Early rifle with T serial number prefix, made in Belgium, has 19-3/8" barrel, with all correct markings, fitted with wheel sight, adjustable for four elevations. Coin finished action is factory engraved in usual Grade II style with acanthus leaves in swirled borders flanking vignettes of a pair of squirrels on left side, with flushing duck on top of action, and a pair of gophers on right. Smoky marbled and lightly fiddle figured European walnut square knob buttstock measures 14" over ribbed steel buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching forend attaches to barrel with screw. Rifle is housed in brown and tan Browning case, gold embossed "WM. C. LUMM" on top front edge. Case is lined in royal blue velvet and contains instruction manual and owner registration card. Weight: 4 lbs 14 oz. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrel retains nearly all of its original blue. Action has almost all of its original coin finish, is browning from oxidation of accumulated oil, and there is some slight discoloration on bottom left side. Stocks retain nearly all of their original finish with a fair amount of light scratches and marks. Bore is excellent. Mechanically fine. Exterior of case has some marks, interior has some rubs. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Francis Brown. MGM 92
