Manufactured in 1893. One of the hardest Colt Lightnings to find is the baby carbine. Features include round lightweight barrel with full length tubular magazine. Integral front and factory carbine type ladder sights. Blue slide action with Rampant Colt logo and saddle ring on left side and dust cover. Two piece forend with checkered panels. Rear carbine stock with metal butt plate. CONDITION: Barrel sports sharp legends, with finish turned a soft patina, clean of any major abrasions. Tube retains approximately 75% original blue with patina beginning to show through. 50% original blue on front barrel band. Frame shows 90% of the high polish bright blue on both sides. 50% fire blue on loading gate. 90% fire blue on breech and dust cover. 85% high polish blue on left side of frame with sharp pony and usual ghost image of ring. Brown patina on slide, post, and trigger guard with traces of blue in protected areas. 85% original high polish blue on carbine buttplate with most wear at toe and heel. 80% original blue on upper tang. 95% lovely case color on hammer. Walnut stocks are proud to metal and show light handling and storage marks. Bright shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. Comes in a period wood case with brass fittings and green felt interior. Also comes with a partial box of .44 Winchester head primed shells. Overall in great condition. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
