(ca 1890) Heavy round barrel is fitted with ramp front sight and marked "John Oberlies Dayton O." on left side in front of caliber. Blued high wall action has damascened Finger lever and breech block, and is fitted with Marble tang sight. Pistol grip target buttstock by Oberlies is of fancy stump figured American walnut and features deep right hand cheekpiece and Oberlies marked bronze buttplate. Matching Schnabel forend has inset ebony tip. Weight: 10 lbs. 14 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, but partially unfinished. Barrel retains nearly all original blue over some scratches, action with nearly all of an old re-blue. Top of receiver is matted and cleaned. Stocks retain nearly all of their original oil finish with some light marks. Bore is excellent. Mechanically fine. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Francis Brown. MGM 113
