Octagon barrel (number 4 weight?) is stamped "RIFLED BY H. M. POPE" (Pope number 687) on top flat which has plugged rear dovetail, front with gold sourdough bead. Scope blocks are installed holding Winchester A 5 scope in micrometer mounts. Matte blued high wall action with standard lever and trigger is unmarked on top tang. Very fine European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 13-1/8" over unmarked Oberlies type bronze buttplate. Well cut point pattern checkering rolls under grip and a vacant silver shield is on toe line. Matching long schnabeled forend has rosewood tip. Weight: 11 lbs. 10 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, as custom finished, retaining nearly all professionally applied blue on metal with some splotches and loss of blue on bottom flat of barrel. A few light marks are in original finish of stocks. Bore is very fine to excellent, lightly frosted. Scope is fine with marks and external scratches, optically clouded.
