Round barrel is marked with Winchester information along with "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL" and caliber on upper left side. Winchester proofs are on top of barrel and action. Barrel is fitted with dovetailed mounts for Sidle long tube scope (no. 2364) with ring post reticle in micrometer mounts. High wall action features long standard loop, double set triggers and light weight hammer. Breech block is case hardened. A factory letter may reveal that new barrel, stocks, etc. was factory work. Very finely crotch figured American walnut Winchester capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13-3/4" over hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip, and matching large forend has inset ebony tip. (Serial number is in felt tip in barrel channel) Weight: 11 lbs. 2 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, as custom finished, possibly by factory, retaining nearly all blue on metal parts with some light subsequent scratches. Stocks have most of their original finish with some marks. Bore is excellent. Mechanically fine. Scope tube appears to be refinished. Optically good, slightly cloudy. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Francis Brown. MGM 118
