Case colored 44-1/2 action and fitted with special order double set triggers and loop lever. Buttstock is of American walnut and in the pistol grip style, uncheckered. Buttplate is a No. 3 heavy Swiss, case colored. Model number and serial number both marked on lower tang. Forearm is uncheckered. Barrel is partially octagon, No. 4 weight, correctly serial numbered to action. Marked with the J. Stevens Arms and Tool stamp and the caliber, .22 Short. Globe front sight for interchangeable disks is fitted, as is a Stevens-Vernier with wind adjustments on the tang. CONDITION: Case color on action is brilliant showing some wear just at the edges, while color of lever shows some wear. Buttstock has just the most minor of handling marks and two tiny cracks, almost unnoticeable, where the comb and buttplate come together. Forearm shows just minor handling marks, but there is a chip on the right hand side that is still present. Buttplate has some case color remaining, rest faded. Barrel shows just the minimum of wear. Good action, fine bore. This rifle remains in such wonderful condition that it could never have seen much use. TR
