One of only 6,496 ever manufactured from 1887-1894. Fairly standard in all respects featuring full octagon barrel, full magazine, sporting sights, walnut stock with rifle butt, and checkered walnut two-piece forend. CONDITION: This rifle exhibits a beautifully patinated overall metal finish, clean, soft brown with flashes of blue, sharp edges and legends including Colt pony on left side of frame, walnut stock is proud, beautifully fitted with just a couple of minor abrasions. Excellent forend with no cracks or chips, nicely checkered. Superbly smooth action, strong well defined rifling with frosted grooves and some minor blackpowder abrasion that may clean ever better. A lovely, untouched, nicely aged, rare, large frame Colt pump rifle that will please even the most discriminating collector.
