Factory letter states this revolver was shipped on February 4th, 1909 in a shipment of 12 guns as a 5-1/2" blue .45 Colt factory engraved "W.F. & Co" and shipped to Wells Fargo & Company, New York, New York, care of W.M. Ashton. With the plethora of questionable Wells Fargo guns on the market it is always a pleasant surprise when one letters correctly. This gun is 100% all original parts with matching serial number on frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Butt is stamped "W.F. & Co". CONDITION: All legends are sharp. Metal is a wonderful, homogeneous blend of grey and blue patina. The proper era black gutta percha grips fit perfectly but are not numbered. Has a smooth look with some flashes of blue coming through the barrel and cylinder flutes. All four Colt clicks. Strong, clean, well defined bore. DB
