Very desirable and useful set MG-3 machine gun parts to convert the 8mm German MG-42 to fire .308 NATO. Includes flash hider, barrel bearing, .308 barrel, complete MG-3 top cover assembly, .308 feed tray with hanger for plastic assault drum, complete MG-3 bolt assembly, black hard plastic assault drum, and green hard plastic ammo box with non-disintegrating belt segments. In short, everything you need to convert your 8mm MG-42 to shoot the far more common 7.62x51mm (.308) ammunition. CONDITION: Overall extremely fine to near excellent with some wear to gray patina in the feed way of the feed tray. Bore of barrel near excellent, shiny and bright. A very convenient and easy to use set of conversion parts which requires no alteration of any kind to your prized World War II vintage MG-42 machine gun. Very clever arrangement designed by the Germans to make use of vintage guns they undoubtedly still had on hand after they changed over from 8mm Mauser to .308 NATO ammunition.
