Built with swamp quarter rib the gun has four flip up V rear sights with small scroll at front of rib, and ramp at front with blade front sight. Tops of barrels marked "Westley Richards & Co. / London / For .405 Cartridge". Rib with dolls head extension, which is scroll engraved. Splinter forend with Deeley release and horn tip is checkered in point pattern and iron is scroll engraved. The horn capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in a two point pattern through the wrist, with gold oval near toe with sling eye, and terminates with "Westley Richards" checkered hard rubber buttplate and has nicely beaded cheekpiece on left side. Made with double triggers, auto-ejectors, and auto-safety which is "Bolted". The boxlock action is nicely engraved with about 80% scroll engraved coverage. The blued floorplate is engraved with scroll as is the long tang trigger guard which has serial number at grip. Nicely beaded fences with scroll engraving and the blued toplever also has scroll engraving which extends down the top tang. "Bolted" and "Safe" in gold on top tang near safety and bolting lever. Housed in its original full oak and leather case which has original makers label, snap caps, and a box of .405 Winchester Kynoch ammo included. CONDITION: Very good as partially restored. Stocks retain most of an older restored finish with a few handling marks and impressions subsequent to restoration. Barrels retain nearly all of an older restored blue finish. Action retains about 30-40% original thinning case colors. Floorplate has been reblued as has trigger guard. The action is tight and on face. Bores are good with beginning corrosion in both tubes - nothing serious. Case is in good condition with leather drying and straps broken. Interior is soiled, label is good. We sent for a factory letter which indicates this rifle was completed on June 10th 1912 for Westley Richards, Liverpool. The letter states that it was a .405 Winchester double rifle with an Anson & Deeley action.
