This rifle was manufactured between May of 1943 and October of 1943. Has a Winchester marked PW barrel, Winchester marked trigger group D28290WRA, Winchester bolt marked D28287-1WRA. Has lockbar rear sight marked left and left. Cartouche on left side of stock stamped WRA / GHD, which is proper for Winchester guns. CONDITION: Original finish blending with brown patina, overall high edge wear. Walnut stocks have numerous dents and dings and have obviously seen lots of use. Left side cartouche is visible, partially readable to determine it is correct. Block P at wrist and grip. Bore has an ME reading of +2 and a TE reading of 4. Light crack in handguard about 2" forward of breech. A rare early war Winchester with all noted Winchester parts that has seen lots of service. Original Winchester early war matching rifles are extremely difficult to find as most were rebuilt for Korea and this is a good solid example.
