According to Colt Factory Archive letter this revolver was shipped in 1892 to the Colt Patent Firearms Office in San Francisco, California with five other guns in the shipment. Letter further documents the 7-1/2" barrel, .45 caliber, and full nickel finish. Unfortunately, someone wanting to improve upon perfection, has replaced all the screws with new modern nickel ones. All other parts are original to the gun with matching serial numbers. The two piece ivory grips fit extremely well and could quite possibly also be original to the gun as the letter states grips "Not Listed". CONDITION: 90+% original bright nickel overall. Lovely aged mellow ivory grips with no cracks or chips other than natural grain. Very attractive black powder Single Action with a very interesting factory letter. MS
