This well made and nicely finished rifle has 25-5/8" demi-bloc barrels fitted with full length matted rib, center portion milled away forming quarter rib holding one standing leaf rear sight and front ramp holding silver bead. Claw scope bases are installed. Unmatted portion of rib is engraved with makers name and "Ferlach". Bottom of bottom barrel is stamped with calibers and Ferlach proofs. A sling eye is soldered to bottom barrel. Coin finished OU Blitz action with scallop back has top strap which extends over comb in H&H fashion. Action also features non-automatic safety, double Kersten locking system, reinforcing bolsters, and gold plated double triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved with near full coverage large swirling thistle leaves and blossoms in shaded background surrounding game scenes of animals, possible quarry for this rifle; pawing cape buffalo on left side, walking elephant on right, and a standing lion on bottom. Blued top lever and trigger guard are engraved with matching thistle leaves, and trigger guard bow is gold inlaid with the monogram "EB". Trigger guard tang extends to horn grip cap. Lightly marbled and figured European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4" over Silver type pad, and features shadow line right hand cheekpiece, chinstrap transition to grip which is checkered in point pattern with beaded borders. A sling eye matching that on barrels is on toe line. Very full matching three piece ejector forend has Deeley release. Weight without scope: 9 lbs 8 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, extremely close to being "as new", appears unfired since proof, and has only the faintest of handling marks on wood and metal, and some assembly marks on lumps and extractors. Rifle is fitted with Leupold Vari-X III 1.5-5x scope with duplex reticle in engraved claw rings. Scope is excellent, optically clear. MGM216.
