Marked on top of receiver "Policias Fiscales Chile", this Marlin Model 1894 Trapper is chambered for the .44-40 caliber and is in better than average condition for the usually well-worn Trapper Models. Features full round barrel, full magazine, twin bands, post front sight, ladder carbine rear sight, walnut stocks and carbine butt. CONDITION: All metal surfaces are a freckled patina with some moderate pitting on the left side of the frame and scattered throughout. Barrel address is sharp. Wood is proud to metal, in good condition with usual bumps and bruises and a small crack at front of forend. Buttstock is in better condition than the forearm, color matches and fits nicely but due to being in much better condition than forearm, it has been obviously replaced at one time. Bore is very good with sharp rifling and just a minimal bit of freckling. Action operates properly. Rifle is accompanied by BATFE paperwork clearing this "Trapper" for sale. Marlin Trappers are infrequently found and their survival rate is very slim at best. TDW
