28" barrel with full length matted rib has Remington Arms and UMC information on left side. Blued action is engraved with 80% coverage boldly cut open shaded scroll within wiggle and line borders surrounding single scenes of dogs and game; pointing pointer is on left side of action and a flying duck is on right. Top of action is engraved with more scroll and there are 3" of scroll at breech ends of barrels. Serial number is engraved at front of action on bottom, and on trigger guard tang. Lightly marbled European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13 - 3/8" over composition Remington buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip and a vacant silver oval is on toe line. Cylindrical forend is also point pattern checkered. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Barrel retains approximately 40% blue, considerably browned and silvered. Action retains most of its blue, thinned and silvered. Stocks retain most of an oil refinish over numerous marks and scratches. Buttstock has long crack on left cheek running from top of action down toward bottom tang. Checkering considerably worn. Grip cap replaced. Bore is excellent. Mechanically fine. A scarce early Remington pump. TDW
