Manufactured 1882. Full round barrel with full length magazine tube. Barrel marked with two line Winchester address and "50-CAL" at the breech. Brass elevator marked "50-95". Dust cover marked "WINCHESTER EXPRESS/.50 CAL 95 GRS." Standard barrel sights. Plain trigger. Blue with case hardened hammer and loading lever. Plain walnut stock and forearm with rifle crescent style buttplate. Accompanying rifle is a Winchester Museum letter dated September 30th, 2015, signed by Jessica A. Bennett, Records Specialist, Cody Firearms Museum. Letter documents configuration and caliber. CONDITION: Excellent overall with approximately 95% bright original blue on barrel and magazine tube mixing with brown patina and scattered areas of oxidation. Receiver and dust cover have 95%+ original high polish bright blue showing light wear. Most all original bright "peacock" color blue on loading gate. Buttplate shows most original thinning blue with scattered oxidation. Forearm cap has most original bright blue. Stock and forearm has an open grain showing very little wear. Strong case color on hammer. Traces of case color on lever turning to patina. Bore is excellent, bright and clean with excellent rifling. Overall a high condition Model 1876 chambered in most desirable .50 caliber express. MKS
