Sometimes referred to as a Model 1843 Navy pistol. This is of standard configuration with the rare marking variation of "U.S.N./ 1847" marked at rear of lock and just a "P" mark on the barrel near breech. Standard full "DERINGER / PHILADELPHIA" on lock. CONDITION: All markings are sharp and clear. Retains 85% barrel brown. Rest of the gun has a pleasing even light patina. Brass is dark and uncleaned. Wood has some dings and handling marks with varnish wear, minor chipping at edges of ramrod cutout. Fine mechanical function. Missing the barrel band pin. GR
