Morril, Mosman & Blair cutlass pistols are one of the most interesting 19th century American oddity pistols. This specimen, unmarked as most are, is unquestionably genuine throughout. 8-1/2" Bowie blade is 1-3/8" wide, round barrel unmarked, boxlock action unmarked. Walnut bag grip, plain percussion hammer. CONDITION: Barrel is mostly bright metal with a number of surface dents. Blade is sharp with some minor pitting throughout, action with minor pitting consonant with condition of blade and barrel, nipple corroded, hammer is bright metal. appears to be the original bag walnut grip with old re-varnish and one repaired crack through right side where it meets the frame. Bore is fair, action functions. Overall a good example of this American rarity. MZ
