A Tryon of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania made flintlock Kentucky style rifle with full octagon rifled barrel stamped "TRYON. PHILADA." and "P" in circle proof at breech on left barrel flat. Flat lockplate stamped "DREPPERD / LANCASTER" in center. Features double set triggers. Full-length figured maple stock with brass hardware including an engraved four piece Philadelphia style pineapple finial patchbox and toeplate with patchbox release in toeplate. German silver thumbpiece inlay along with flat key barrel escutcheon plates. Nicely engraved brass wearplate on forearm. CONDITION: Excellent, showing very little use. Metal parts have aged patina with brass having a mellow mustard patina. Stock very good with a few light storage marks. Lock excellent and in its original flintlock configuration. Mechanics are good with a very good bore. This rifle has survived in remarkable condition throughout. DG
