Circa 1912, this paper label would have served as a wrapper for the box that held 20 packs of gum. This is an exceedingly rare survivor and a piece you are not likely to encounter elsewhere. The colors are bright and unfaded and the label has only very light edge wear, a 4" paper wrinkle on the right side, and 2 very short closed tears at the top. "PEPSIN GUM" is written in pencil at the bottom of the label and a few pencil erasures are visible in the lower-right area, which all indicate this was probably a printer's proof. This was purchased from Ferd Soghurek of Baltimore, Maryland. He was a retired employee of A. HOEN & Company printers, with plants in Baltimore and Richmond, Virginia. From the collection of Thom Thompson. This is the actual item shown in Petretti's guide. Condition: 8.2 - 8.8, Excellent.
Item Dimensions: 12" x 7".
