Manufactured 1867. Only a handful of Colt 1860 Armies bear the address "Col. Colt London". This one is even rarer as it has no London proofs, so it was finished for London but never sent. CONDITION: Barrel retains much original bright blue finish with some browning and flaking. Lever retains considerable original case hardening with some rainbow colors still visible throughout. Frame has bright case colors on left flap, fading on right. Blue on cylinder appears to have flaked rather than worn off, with some traces remaining. Naval engagement scene is excellent with only one minor patch of pitting. Hammer retains most of its brilliant case colors, more vivid on left side than right. Back strap and trigger guard retain nearly all of their original bluing, as does trigger. Cylinder has all six pin safeties intact. Grips retain nearly all original varnish with marks throughout, a minor chip towards the toe on the left, and a larger chip on the right. All numbers match, including wedge. Gun is as tight as new. Bore is brilliant. This is one of the scarcest variations of the 1860 Army and a must for any collector of .44 caliber percussion Colts. MZ CORRECTION: Photos updated.
