Double cases for Colt 1860s are rare, and this appears to be an original period case. Label attached to bottom of case reading "Allen and Wheellock, Guns, Rifles, Pistols, Etc., 99 Maiden Lane, NY.". Lid of case with modern plate engraved Eustace Booill. Interior of case with modern reprinted directions for loading Colt's pistols label. Purple felt reline. Hinges appear original. Key escutcheon original. Case is properly made. Well worth restoring, as these are excessively rare. MZ
