Gilded metal components and black cloth-covered pressed-cork body, deluxe eagle plate with applique crossed sabers surmounted with a shield affixed to the front of the helmet, two-piece cavalry side buttons, brass chin chain, yellow yak hair plume and fine quality plume socket with separately applied eagle. Helmet is complete with gilt knotted cords, tassels and waffles. All components are as prescribed for the Model 1881 dress helmet. Black leather sweatband, white silk crown lining and green silk visor linings. CONDITION: Gilt components are excellent, lightly toned cords, front visor interior cork is broken but holds its shape well, interior silk shows moderate wear.
