A very nice example of a vintage .30-06 Government Griffin Howe bolt action rifle. Barrel fitted with a Lyman 48 peep sight and a barrel banded, ramped, hooded blade front sight. This Model 1903 US Springfield Armory action has a jeweled bolt slide and two panel bolt handle. Winchester Model 70 styled three position safety. Stock with cheekpiece, pistol grip, metal grip cap, studs for sling, red rubber pad, and ebony forend tip. Rifle weighs: 7lbs 13oz. The high number frame was made in 1936. This rifle is believed to be The Prototype for the series of this model being made by Griffin & Howe during the 1980's. The style of rifle is classic Griffin & Howe. CONDITION: Barrels retain 95%plus of its custom blue finish with some minor handling marks. Stock has a few very minor light handling marks as well. DB
