German WWII Heer M40 single decal helmet marked "Q62" for the maker of "Quist", and in a shell size of 62, with a lot number of "DN81". Shell retains 92-95% of its original rough gray-green paint, with some fine dirt around the rivets, inside the vents, and on the rough texture paint. Interior retains approximately 95% of its rough gray-green finish, with some very light scratches under the visor. Heer decal is in 95+% condition with the required era coat of lacquer, which shows up nicely with a blacklight. Original zinc liner band is present and is untouched. Liner is complete, untouched, in a nice light tan color, with a size stamp of "55", and some light fraying to the leather on the front edge. Original drawstring is present. A 1" piece of tape is adhered to the liner with "6 - 5/8" written in blue ball point pen, and appears to represent what was thought to be the size in inches. Original chinstrap with gray painted steel fittings is present, with some light wear, and appears to be unmarked. A very desirable untouched and complete M40 combat helmet. CONDITON: Overall excellent+.
