This spectacular revolver features nearly full coverage engraving. L.D. Nimschke was not listed as a factory employee for Smith but it is well known he did contract work for them as well as contract work for large dealers. The patterns used have his signature look including the Roman Soldier in left side panel. The cylinder is gold wash and engraved in typical Nimschke style. The hammer and base pin are also gold plated but no engraved. The grips are finely grained ivory. CONDITION: The gun does not appear to have ever been used and remains in 99% all original untouched condition. The bore shows some light moisture corrosion. This is a very special revolver and would look at home in a custom display case. One of the finer condition engraved Smith's of this era. DB
