This splendid revolver has a 3-3/4" octagonal barrel in .32 caliber with barrel and frame finely engraved with scrolls, retailers name in reserve on top flat, brightly polished hammer and trigger, deluxe figured one piece walnut grip with extremely fine checkering. Trigger guard engraved as is buttcap. All grip screws are finely engraved. Cylinder with border engraving framing the nickel recesses, polished loading lever finely engraved marked Tranter's Patent. Frame marked Tranter's Patent. CONDITION: Gun is extraordinary, frame and barrel retaining almost all of their original bright bluing, screws retain nearly all of their original bright bluing, cylinder retains its original color case hardening, only slightly faded. Trigger guard retains most of its bright bluing with only minor losses. Case hardened buttcap with slight patination but still strong colors. Finely checkered grip retains nearly all of its original varnish, checkering is excellent. Hammer, trigger, and lever retain their original bright polish. Mahogany case is in pristine condition throughout, the lid with most of its original varnish. Index screws retain original gilding. Circular presentation disk, blank, but retains some original gilding. Interior of case with phenomenal Alexander Thompson label. Green baise lining. All original accessories including cap tin, lubricating compound, and lubricated bullets. Original ramrod. Dixon flask retaining nearly all of its bright gilding on spout, all of its bright nitre blue on spring, body retains nearly all of its original lacquer with no dents. Nipple wrench and screwdriver are original, screwdriver slightly chipped on blade. Oil bottle is excellent. Original mold retains nearly all of its original blue on sprue cutter. Mold marked 120 (for .32 caliber). Mold appears to be unused. Bore is near mint, appears unfired. Action is crisp and tight as a new gun. If you want a nearly perfect cased Tranter, this wonderful example retailed by Alexander Thompson will please the most discerning collector. MZ
