A remarkably fine cased No. 2 Belt Model Paterson with all original accessories and extremely rare matching spare cylinder. CONDITION: The 5 - 1/2" barrel retains most of its original bluing with portions still extremely bright. Barrel address Patent Arms Manufacturing Company Paterson New Jersey. Wedge screw appears to be original. Matching wedge with most of its original finish, very bright. Not battered, as most are. Cylinder in gun numbered 674 with virtually pristine unworn centaur scene and most of its original bright bluing with some fading towards rear. All six nipples are original. Recoil shield with some original bright blue finish, hammer with some faint traces of case colors, mostly on back. Frame is crisp but retains little or no original case color. Folding trigger retains traces of original bright bluing. Backstrap retains no original finish. Has three notches cut into it. Original figured walnut grips retain most of their original factory varnish with some flaking and three notches cut on both right and left side towards base. Bore is brilliant. Original dome lid Paterson case in remarkable condition with its original striated purple velvet lining and most of its original varnish. Spare cylinder with virtually pristine centaur scene, considerable original bright blue, original nipples, also stamped 674. Original Paterson mold retains strong traces of bright blue, wooden handles retain most of their original varnish. Original Paterson combination blue retains traces of bright bluing, showing little use, some battering on handle. Original cleaning rod in excellent condition. Original charger, number 53, marked "Patent Arms Manufacturing Company, Paterson, New Jersey". Has some traces of original gilding on spout, one spout slightly distorted, matching number 53. Coppering on body mostly absent. Original Paterson capper in fine condition with considerable original nitre blue on spring. Interior retains strong traces of original bright gilding. Case key possibly original. This Paterson has distinguished history, being illustrated in the Paterson Colt book by R.L. Wilson on page 97. One of the finest and most complete cased No. 2 Belt Model Patersons known. MZ
