A vintage and rare circa 1909 side by side assisted opening side plated boxlock ejector game gun with 30" steel barrels. Extended cross bolted, concave top rib reads "COGSWELL & HARRSION LTD" "THE AVANT TOUT." (The Above All.) "141 NEW BOND ST & 226 STRAND. LONDON." Boxlock action Acanthus leaf engraved sideplates also engraved "COSGSWELL & HARRISON LTD.". Automatic safe and Double triggers. Action, lockplates, top lever, top and bottom tang are engraved with fine floral scroll at approximately 80% coverage. Serial number is on trigger guard tang. Nice English straight grip on European walnut. Stock with scored butt. Smooth flat top pattern checkering at grip and matching splinter forend. CONDITION: Good. Barrels retain approximately 60% blue with various rubs, scratches and dings. Small dent on bottom of left barrel. Action with grey patina, slightly proud and a few buggered screw heads. Bottom action, trigger guard and tang with faded black colors. Stock refinished with old handling marks. Forend is covered with leather sheath. CP
