Colt factory archival letter documents the following: Colt Model 1862 Pocket Navy Conversion, Serial Number: 20009, Caliber: .38 Rimfire, Barrel Length: 4-1/2", Finish: Blue, Type of Stocks: Not Listed, Factory Engraved: Yes; Shipped To: J.P. Moores Sons, New York, New York Date of Shipment: August 9, 1875, Number of Same Type Guns in Shipment: 57. Late percussion vine style scroll engraving. Though not documented by factory archive letter, the letters "I.E." located above the serial numbers indicates the one piece ivory grips are factory original. CONDITION: Fine with overall gun metal grey patina. Approximately 10-15% original silver on backstrap and trigger guard. Engraving is sharp and clear. Stagecoach cylinder scene is clear. Matching serial numbers on barrel, frame, cylinder, trigger guard, and backstrap. Excellent ivory grips with a lovely mellow age, one grain crack along right side. MKS
