High condition full blue finish Model 1862 Colt Pocket Police. Typically you would see these beautiful revolvers with case colored frames, but this unique example was finished in London with a high polish blue finish on frame, barrel, and cylinder. 6-1/2" barrel with Colt New York address and British proof marks. British proof marks also on cylinder. Matching serial number 20404 with small initial "E" on barrel, frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Matching number 0404 on wedge. Considering the small "E" over the serial numbers one would expect to see this revolver engraved, however it is not. More than likely it was intended for engraving while at the Colt New York factory, instead sent in the "white" to London for final finishing and sale. Trigger guard and backstrap are silver plated. The loading lever along with hammer (also typically case colored) are polished bright. One piece varnished walnut grips. Fitted in an English oak partition style case complete with bullet mold, English style powder flask, nipple wrench, oiler and "R. Walker London" percussion cap tin. Nice "Directions For Using Colt's Pistols" label inside of lid. CONDITION: 95-97% high polish blue remains on frame, cylinder, and barrel. Bore is excellent with light pitting. All screws are original and unmolested. 80-85% original silver on trigger guard, traces of silver on backstrap. Grips are excellent with most original varnish remaining. Case is excellent overall with minor separation of lid frame and top, easily repairable. A beautiful high condition Colt Pocket Police.-MKS-
