Sharps type derringer appearing to be a direct copy of the Sharps Model 1-A deringer and, according to the book "Sharps Firearms" by Frank Sellers, may have been made from Sharps manufactured parts shipped to England. Marked "Tipping & Lawden-Sharps Patent" on left side of the frame around the hammer screw. This Model T-2 has a 3" barrel cluster with four bores. Chambered in .30 RF caliber. Bottom of barrel muzzle is marked with serial number 5572. Nearly full coverage exhibition engraving. Flowing floral patterns with fantasy animal heads and stippled background etching on barrel. Brass frame masterfully executed scroll engraving with rose bud motifs and a stylized wolf's head on the right side with mythical character on the left. Beautifully aged ivory grips. Complete with a deluxe burl walnut partition style fitted case with rosewood handled screwdriver, cleaning rod and Hawksley marked pewter oiler. CONDITION: Nearly all refinished blue remaining on barrel. Brass frame a pleasing mustard color patina, with no signs of ever being over cleaned or polished. Bores have moderate pitting. Action works properly with rotation of firing pin upon cocking. Case is very good with some separation and splitting of burl veneer. Interior is solid with moderate wear. Overall a very handsome set. -MKS-
