This antique, 1898 vintage Colt Single Action Army revolver is factory engraved with the quintessential look of a "cowboy" or old west fancy six shooter. Desirable 4 - 3/4" barrel chambered in .45 Colt. Nickel plated with fire blue screws. Two piece mother of pearl carved grips with a steer head motif and ruby eyes. A 1973 Colt factory archival letter accompanies gun documenting configuration, nickel finish, and factory engraving. Shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. Chicago, Illinois October 4, 1898 in a shipment of 4 guns. CONDITION: Very good overall with honest wear retaining 85-90% original nickel on barrel, ejector housing, frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Cylinder has a fair amount of wear with traces of original nickel blending into a gunmetal gray patina. Grips, though not factory, fit very nicely with one repair to the heel of the left panel. Action is tight and crisp, very good bore with light pitting. Fire blue finish on screws has been enhanced at a later period.Overall a very attractive and colorful fancy Colt with factory engraving.
