This model is referred to as a Model 1 3rd Issue, manufactured from 1868 to 1881. This is New York Nimschke style engraving with nearly full coverage, all done in scroll with punch dot background. CONDITION: Never been fired. Retains 99.9% of the original nickel finish with razor sharp edges and legends. 95% original case colors on hammer. Original pearl grips are near mint. Bore is near mint. Rotates, indexes and locks up like new. Comes in a period walnut case with blue felt lining, cleaning rod, and an original period box of ammunition. The box was shrink wrapped to keep it together as lid was detached, ammo was removed and will accompany gun; appears to be a full box but we did not count the cartridges. This is one eye catching early Smith & Wesson and, as to condition and engraving, could not be improved on. DB
