Never made available to the general public, Winchester produced the "Double W" cartridge board in two variations: the more expensive and rare of the two is the one that featured actual cartridges attached to the board. This is a stone lithograph done in full color with the same image as the real cartridge board but no actual cartridges. It was printed in full vibrant color and features the same image of two hunters and a dead bear, and a mallard and moose. These large display pieces were very susceptible to storage due to size. Very few have survived in excellent condition without evidence of water damage, tearing or extreme surface wear. CONDITION: We have completely blacklighted this poster and there is no evidence of any in-painting or touch-up. There are some scratches to the surface, very few and very minor. The color is brilliant. It is still housed in its original mission style 3" oak frame with the gold inner liner. Measures 57" L x 40" H. It is in its original size and have never been cut down or altered. A stunning display piece for your gun room at a fraction of the cost of the actual cartridge board, and far easier to maintain. Highly desirable due to the infrequency of their offering and this example is in far better than average condition; the scratches could be touched up but they are so minor one would have to question the reason one would tamper with such a nice, all original 130 year old display piece.
