This 4" Python was built in 1962. Under the left grip on frame is engraved "Engr'vd by FE Warren 1962". Floyd Warren, deceased, was a well known engraver from Ohio. His pattern of engraving on this Python is chisel relief scroll and vine with a panel scene on left side with solid gold Rampant Colt while right side has gold bobcat. He also used gold lines to decorate the cylinder and both ends of the barrel and would be considered Class D coverage. The grips are the so called Smiley Face checkered walnut with gold medallions. CONDITION: The gun does not look to have been fired since time of engraving and finish. Grips are near mint condition. The action and bore are near perfect. A very handsome, early, engraved custom Colt Python. DB
