(1937) 28" barrels are marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. TITANIC STEEL." on concave matted rib. Barrel flats are stamped with Parker proofs and all other correct markings. Serial number and frame size, "1/2", are on lumps. Case hardened action, marked "PARKER BROS" on water table and engraved "Parker" on bottom is engraved in late "D" grade style with 70% scroll and single dogs on sides; setter on left, pointer on right. Trigger plate has usual nye of pheasant. Blued trigger guard with scroll on bow has serial number on tang. Fine crotch figured American walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14" over skeleton steel buttplate. Stock has usual "D" grade side panels with drop points, point pattern checkering at grip, and large silver oval on toe line engraved "J S Mc". Matching splinter ejector forend does not have ejector patent numbers on iron. Gun comes with tan leather case with combination locks by Pachmayr, lined in burgundy felt. Case contains a letter from Larry Baer with information on this gun and stating only about 300 12-gauge guns were made on the "miniature 1/2 frame". This gun matches all specifications in the ledger except the stock is listed as a capped pistol grip. CONDITION: Excellent as refinished. Barrels retain nearly all of an older re-black, engraving somewhat softened. Action retains nearly all of a re-color hardening over some light marks. Stocks retain essentially all of a well done hand rubbed oil finish over some light marks, checkering cleaned up. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. Case is fine. An attractive and scarce Parker with great measurements and dimensions. MGM40.
