(1975) 28" chopper lump barrels with slightly raised game rib are engraved "ARMI FAMARS" on top of left barrel. Barrel flats are stamped with 1975 Italian nitro proofs for 2 - 3/4" chambers. Coin finished action with pinless sidelocks features non-automatic safety, bushed strikers, and single non-selective trigger. Action is engraved with very nicely cut and shaded acanthus scroll surrounding a bulino scene of Diana, Goddess of the Hunt, with her crescent moon headdress, bow and quiver, and hunting dog standing in an open meadow. Fences are more deeply engraved with acanthus scroll. Lockplates are completely filled with scenes of Diana at her bath accompanied and attended by nymphs/servants. On left lock she prepares for her bath, and is removing her sandals. while her attendants see to her bow, her hound watches from a distance. On right lock she is dressing after her bath while her attendants bathe. Background details are finely rendered and these scenes are quite lifelike. Angelo Galeazzi specialized in and is most well known for his various scenes of Diana. Galeazzi's signature is on left lockplate, while right lock and bottom scene have initials at lower lefts. Single beaded trigger guard with matching scroll has serial number on tang. Dark, well marbled, stump figured European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 13 - 1/2" over brown white line pad. Stock features drop points and point pattern checkering. Matching semi-beavertail ejector forend with Anson release has gold FAMARS crest inlet on central uncheckered diamond. Gun is housed in tan leather case with stitched leather corners, lined in scarlet cloth. FAMARS crest is printed on interior lid. Case contains proof certificate and yellow cloth bags for action and barrels. CONDITION: Excellent, showing very little use, with only a few very minor marks in metal finishes and some scuffs and scratches in wood, mostly on right side of butt. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent. Case is excellent with some scratches on exterior. Interior has some light rubs and soiling. MGM29.
