Very nice circa 1970 Midas Grade with 30" barrels choked full and improved modified, ventilated cross hatched game rib fitted with two white beads. Browning name and Missouri and Montreal addresses are on left side over “MADE IN BELGIUM”, with right side marked “SPECIAL STEEL” with gauge, chamber size and patent information. Rear breech end of barrels have 2" triangles of large, shaded, open, scrolled acanthus matching that on typical blued Superposed action with single inertia selective gold-plated trigger and is a non-auto safety. Action is engraved with nicely cut and shaded fine large open scroll with acanthus highlights, surrounding nicely detailed gold scenes of flying pheasants over meadow and flying ducks flushing over pond on the side walls and gold wire capturing Bottom action with gold flying quail inlay over open field in vignette. This treatment was designed by noted Browning engraver, Louis Vrancken, specially for the Midas grade. Blacked trigger guard is also engraved with scroll, and has vacant shield on bow. Beautiful smoky figured American walnut, cast off with pistol grip, fleur de lis inspired point checkering and Browning white line ventilated rubber pad. Forearm is nicely figured beavertail. CONDITION: Excellent. 98% blue remaining. Stock with chip in finish on left panel. Otherwise stock and forearm in are both in very good condition. CP
