Produced originally in 1848, this early First Model US Inspected Colt Dragoon revolver has been fitted with a 12 - 1/4" octagon barrel and unique loading rammer. Barrel assembly has no markings but is very well made with drift adjustable front sight. Frame, cylinder, trigger guard and back strap are all numbers matching. Traces of the cylinder scene remain and walnut grips are numbered in pencil on bottom mortise. A rather unique customized Dragoon revolver. CONDITION: Good with an even brown patina overall. Bore has strong rifling with darkness in lands. Grips have several small chips at corners. Action operates but needs cleaning. TDW
