Of standard configuration throughout with the early type "S. NORTH" in a downward curve and the middle "MIDLN CON" in an upward curve. Total manufactured 19,374. Barrel deeply struck "VP" over "U.S.". Lock with deeply struck markings "S. NORTH" over eagle and "MIDDLETON, CON". Walnut stock with beautiful "L S" inspector's mark for Luther Sage. CONDITION: Barrel is aged brown, lock aged brown, hammer and frizzen with pinprick pitting, standard configuration furniture in good condition throughout, stock rates excellent with one minor tight crack forward the block plate and considerable original raised grain, phenomenal inspector's mark, one extremely minor chip under forward side nail, action is excellent, bore is good. Gun retains what appears to be original oak cleaning rod with steel jag. A far above average specimen of this important Martial flintlock pistol. MZ
