Total production of this desirable model Sharps target rifle was only 230 manufactured in Bridgeport, Connecticut from October 1877 to May 1880. Available in 32" or 34" barrels, this example, serial number 6650 has the 34" barrel marked "Sharps Rifle Co. Bridgeport Conn." and "Old Reliable". Chambered in .45-2.4" caliber. Tang mounted, long range sight with a wind gauge spirit level front sight. Walnut panel on casehardened frame. Single checkered trigger and trigger lock. Beautifully checkered English walnut stock and forearm with ebony tip. CONDITION: Excellent+ overall with 98%+ original blue on barrel. Bore is excellent, English walnut stocks show very little wear, checkering is sharp and crisp. Case colors on frame, lever and bolt are thinning yet still present (probably was never bright). Stock shows very little wear and forearm is nearly mint. All original, unmolested screws. Overall a most desirable and rare model Sharps that would be hard to improve on. From the Mel Hrubetz Collection. -MKS-
