Made famous by Teddy Roosevelt and son Kermit's famous 1908 African Safari, the venerable Winchester Model 1895 was a true workhorse to big game hunters. This most sought after model has all the bells and whistles. Full round barrel, marked "-Nickel Steel Barrel- Especially for Smokeless Powder", chambered in .405 WCF. Takedown frame. Lyman receiver sight, and express front sight. Crescent style rifle buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent overall with approximately 98% bright original blue on barrel, takedown ring has approximately 75% original blue, frame has roughly 60% blue blending into a blue/brown patina overall. Receiver sight has most original finish. Magazine and lever retains 95%+ original blue. Stock is excellent+ showing minimum wear with one gouge on left side. Forearm also excellent with one "bruise" on left front. Bore is excellent, bright and shiny. Overall a very nice clean rifle in a most desirable caliber and configuration. From the Mel Hrubetz Collection. -MKS-
