These fine pistols are preserved in untouched, pristine condition throughout. Plain blued octagonal barrels retain nearly all their original bright blue finish. The bolted front action locks have simple floral engraving. Elegant signature. The hammer is engraved en suite. Steel mounts, including spurred trigger guard, butt with pointed finial in urn pattern. CONDITION: Locks have virtually no pitting. French grey. Nipples are the original and still have concentric striations. Fluted figured walnut stocks retain nearly all their original varnish. Actions are excellent. Deeply rifled bores are fine. Both pistols are in similar unused condition. Period vertical case of mahogany lined in green baize. Case has its original key and remains in excellent condition. Vertical cases are unusual and particularly attractive. This is a fine set. MZ
