Features include round barrel with dovetailed inverted V front sight, V notch rear sight on rear link, thumb safety marked "GESICHERT" in the upper position, extractor marked "GELADN", front toggle link marked "DWM" in script. This is an all matching numbers gun except the magazine. The magazine is mint and correct non-matching wood bottom and nickel body with fire blue retaining pin. CONDITION: Gun retains 90% of the original factory applied blue finish with an even brown patina showing threw the blue. Original straw is about 70%. Good bore with sharp lands and groves. Crisp checkering on the unnumbered grips. This is a very early gun. No stock lug and hold open has been added witch is correct. Featured on page 106 of Jan C. Still's book Weimar Lugers. "Figure 30a. 1908 First Issue, serial number 9608a, with Imperial 16th Reserve Infantry Regiment unit markings (16.R(scriptic)1.3.) and retaining full Imperial Army proofs. It bears added military style serial number placement, and a police sear safety installed during the Nazi Era. This Luger is unusual in that the police usually remove earlier unit markings.
