World War II production M1 Carbine, rebuilt post WW2 into type III configuration with bayonet lug, four rivet handguard, adjustable rear sight, toggling safety, and marked magazine release. Rifle has scarce Israeli Defense Force markings on left side of stock and small import mark on bottom of barrel. These M1 carbine were given to Israel for their defenses in the 1950's. They stamped the serial number on the left side of the wrist of the stock.These carbines were used in numerous skirmishes defending Israel and later were surplussed and replaced with more modern automatic arms. CONDITION: Good with bright and shiny bore and properly operating mechanics. Exterior finish is worn with over 50% remaining. Wood stocks are fine with numerous dings and scratches but very sound and operational. With good condition M4 bayonet guard marked UTICA in M8 Scabbard. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
