Blued barrel is stamped "PH" perpendicular to bore, sans 'HP' sans serifs, which is proper for the serial number of this gun. Slide has the 1913 patent date with standing pony at rear. Right side simply states "MODEL OF 1911 US ARMY". Inspector stamp on left side "GHS" for Gilbert Stewart, who inspected from 1915-1918. All other parts are correct for this year of production to include long smooth trigger, diamond checkered walnut grips, checkered slide stop and safety, checkered wide spur hammer, correct two tone magazine with no stamp on bottom, pinned base. CONDITION: Slide retains approximately 90% of the original factory military blue with some age freckling and minor surface rubs. Flat mainspring housing and front grip strap are grey patina. Balance of frame retains approximately 85% original arsenal blue. Has razor sharp legends. Near mint bore. Grips are excellent to excellent plus with sharp checkering. Overall a good 85% all original, all correct parts, shipped January 3, 1918 to U.S. Quartermaster according to Goddard's Book of the 1911 Pistol. DB
