Made in 1940. This is arguably the finest semi-automatic target pistol ever made. From the distinctive flat side with Match Target Bullseye to the so called Elephant Ear checkered oversize walnut grips, it is instantly recognized by just about every Colt or pistol aficionado in the world. Comes with the traditional target front and rear sights, high gloss factory blue finish with matte finish top of frame. Also has the original match target stamped magazine. CONDITION: The original box has matching number and near perfect end labels. Even the box is in excellent shape with just minor edge and corner wear and all aprons are intact. Paperwork includes instructions, Colt handbook and tool in envelope. The grips are near mint and aside from a hint of high edge wear, the original blue remains in 99.9% condition. Fine bore and action. It would be near impossible to find a nicer pre-war boxed Match Target. Collector quality. DB
