Circa 1965. The S2 was the entry level of the SO line. Believed to only be manufactured in 12 bore and typically with shorter barrels; for instance this gun has 26". Top left barrel reads "Boehler * Antinit Steel" "P.BERETTA-GARDONE VT. MADE IN ITALY". Barrels with ventilated cross cut narrow rib with round white mid and steel front sight(s) and ejectors. Barrels are also marked with gold number "II" on rib near breech. Chokes are currently cylinder and cylinder. Bright coin finished side lock action with cross bolt, double triggers (front hinged) and automatic safety. This S2 has Regency grade engraving with a silver dove inlaid in the blued opening top lever. Walnut stock with finely checkered straight hand grip, blacked engraved trigger guard, long bottom strap lightly engraved with serial number, factory mounted butt plate and oval for initials. Finely checkered game forend with Deeley release. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retain 95% of blue with some minor handling marks. Barrels originally marked with stars for top barrel as improved modified and bottom barrel as improved cylinder, also marked S3. Stock with some light marks and slightly proud metal around action.
